A full panel is the most common reason a house cannot have what it wants.
Older homes were wired for a fraction of what a modern one draws. A 100A panel that was generous in 1978 runs out somewhere between an induction range, a heat pump and a car — and the first anyone hears of it is usually a quote for something else that quietly excludes the panel work.
We do the panel on its own. Service upgrades, sub-panels, new circuits and outlets, rewiring, and the diagnostic visit for a breaker that keeps going without telling you why. Licensed and permitted in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Maryland.
A dedicated Level 2 circuit for a car is the other half of it, and it is worth doing once rather than twice — sizing the run for the charger you will want in five years costs very little more than sizing it for today.

Backup: the honest answer depends on the outage.
A battery is silent, automatic and finite — it switches over fast enough that you may not notice, recharges from the roof during the day, and runs for hours rather than days. A standby generator is loud and needs fuel and servicing, and will carry the whole house for as long as the fuel lasts.
Which one is right is a question about the outages you actually get, not about which product is better. For a four-hour summer outage a battery wins outright; for three days in February a generator is the more honest answer, and we will say so. We size backup around the circuits that matter — well, heat, refrigeration, the office — and tell you plainly what is not on the list.
Batteries have their own programmes and their own economics by state. Storage by state covers Connecticut Energy Storage Solutions and Mass Save ConnectedSolutions.
A service upgrade, a dedicated EV circuit and a clean interconnection are ordinary work for us in every state we serve — including the ones where we do not install the heat pump itself. If the panel is what is standing between you and a heat pump, that part is not a change order.
